In all the measure of individual success, I think I've found one of the most interesting.
There are 7.8 billion people on earth and although there may be no one exactly like you, your friends, family or co-workers.
I'd bet big on there being someone who lives, thinks and acts extremely similarly to you.
There are bundles of people who do thing x and y. Say you write code and you love to create music (like myself).
That narrows down the population pool to let's say... 100,000 people.
It's not an ultra unique combo but it's not common either.
We can keep adding personality and activity combos until we get to the fewest # of people possible.
The thing is - it will almost never be 0 unless you combine personality and activity combos that are obscure, unlikely and irrelevant ("I was born during a lighting strike").
With this awareness, within the lens of 'success' a great measure could be as simple the question: How many clones of there are you?
Fewer clones proves you've pushed past filters of hardship others did not.
Fewer clones proves you've made fewer cultural 'group think' based decisions.
Fewer clones proves you truly think for yourself and act on your thoughts resulting in a once in species type of life.
I'm sure you can think of a few people who are 'rarer'. Maybe a friend or family member and of course the obvious examples like Elon.
In the age of the hyper connected world I think we could all benefit from more individualism.
If you want a life that is truly unique...
Don't be a clone.
